Safe Environment Program - Requirement for Volunteers The United States Conference of Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People mandates that every Diocese implement Safe Environment programs for all children, parents, and adults. Our Diocese has acquired the Safe Environment program entitled Protecting God’s Children. At St. Thomas More, all adults (18 and older) who come into contact with children, regardless of the number of hours, are mandated to have a background check, sign acknowledgment forms confirming that they have read and agree to comply with the Volunteer Code of Conduct and Sexual Abuse Policy, and attend a Protecting God’s Children workshop. The policies and forms are available in the parish or main office or may be found on the school website at www.stmschoolpa.com and clicking on “STM School”. Then click on "Volunteering". All necessary information can be accessed from that page. You may attend a workshop at any diocesan location,\ but must call to register in advance.
The next PGC Workshop at St. Thomas More is on Tuesday, October 6, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Disciple's Room of the Church. You must be present for the entire workshop to receive credit. Contact Cory Lamack at 610-433-7413, Ext. 28 to register or with any questions.
