STM Scoop Team Meets Good Morning America's Ginger Zee!
Last week, the students of the STM Scoop news broadcast team met with Ginger Zee, Lead Meteorologist on Good Morning America. The opportunity was spearheaded by Maggie, one of our 7th grade students on the team. Ginger Zee talked with the STM team via Zoom and shared great advice and life lessons. The 14 members of the team are 7th and 8th grade students who applied for a position last spring. The students went through an interview process and even had to audition if they wanted to be on air. The studio, located in the library, has been made possible through a generous donation from Service Electric. The purpose of the club is to instruct our students about broadcast journalism, allowing them to learn how to set-up, produce and broadcast a daily student produced news show. We have a director, broadcasters/script writers, audio technicians, and camera operators. The broadcasts are live-streamed every morning on the STM Scoop YouTube Channel. This new club is a great addition to the opportunities offered to our students at STM School!
